What can we say? This week has been absolutely phenomenal!! We cannot thank all of our audiences enough. Without all of you supporting us, we wouldn't have a Theatre Group!

There are so many people to thank this year. Our absolutely incredible cast, our crew, our front of house teams, the Auchtermuchty Bellvue Colts and the committee at Strathmiglo Public Hall.

Thank you to all the local businesses who supported us in the programme, Donald McKain Motor Engineer, Nethermyres Farm Shop, ELS Dog Training, Yacht & Barrow & Burnside Convenience Store, our Show Sponsors The Boar's Head Fife, Restaurant & Pub, Harley Estate Agents, John White & Son - Precision Weighing Solutions & Cygnet Storage, those who donated vouchers for Lucky Programme and Star Raffle Prizes, The Scottish Deer Centre & Wildlife Park Featuring: Muddy Boots, The Railway Tavern at Strathmiglo, The Famous Bein Inn, Auchingarrich Wildlife Park, Rufflets St-Andrews & Scottish Crannog Centre.

We are absolutely blown away with the response to this year's show! Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts

See you all in the New Year!!

The Victoria Hall in Auchtermuchty has been the Theatre Group's home ever since the group was established. For years, hundreds of people looked forward to coming to the hall to see the latest Theatre Group performance. The hall has been closed since 2020, and there is still no word on when this building will re-open.

The Theatre Group has sought alternative venues to use instead of the Victoria Hall, although this has worked, it is not without sacrifice. Alternatives are simply not sustainable for many different reasons. Additionally, we are unable to produce our full programme of events. Our annual play, comedy night and our much anticipated youth group has had to be put on hold. This means the theatre group is struggling immensely.

Without the Victoria Hall, we have to accept the possibility that the Auchtermuchty Theatre Group may have to cease operation for good. The only group remaining from the original glory days of Auchtermuchty. We are desperate to keep the group going, but this is becoming increasingly difficult.

If the group does indeed have to close, it will be a huge loss felt all over the community. We are concerned not only for our audiences, but also for our members, and our youth members. Many of whom have seen huge changes in their self-confidence and mental health.

We implore each and every one of our followers, members and supporters to get behind the Save the Victoria Hall campaign. Please don't make us say goodbye.

Thank You.

The Auchtermuchty Theatre Group Committee

AGM 2024

The Theatre Group held its Annual General Meeting on 26th April in the Church Hall where all the activities of the group and future plans were discussed. Donald Lothian announced his retirement from the Committee, but commented that he will stay on as a member and provide support and guidance where it is needed. A new committee was elected to serve the group, with many new faces coming on board.

Due to the continuation of the Victoria Hall being closed to the public, it is likely performances will remain in other venues for the time being. The option of moving to Strathmiglo Village Hall for the 2024 Pantomime was discussed, as this will involve less intensive work for the production team. This is not a permanent solution, as the Strathmiglo Village Hall also presents it's own limitations for the Theatre Group. It is has become apparent that other venues are not sustainable for the group, and without the Victoria Hall, the Theatre Group will continue to struggle.

DID YOU KNOW?

If you are one of the hundreds of people who have ever helped the Theatre Group is any way whatsoever, then you have helped raise over £20,000 for charities at home and abroad, whilst also giving the Group the funds to invest in lights, sound and stage equipment.  All this investment has allowed us, year on year, to produce quality pantomimes and plays for the entire family to enjoy. Auchtermuchty Theatre Group would like to say a massive THANK YOU!
